The longest standing construction event of East Africa, Addisbuild, has now entered under the roof organization of the BIG 5 brand. The terms of the deal between the two companies, Expotim Intl. Fair Organizations Inc., the leading Turkish exhibition company, and the dmg events renowned for its acknowledged events in the Middle East and Africa, have been accepted and acquisition of the Addisbuild by the dmg events has now been completed successfully.
Owing to its successful organizations, Addisbuild has always been the primary choice of international companies seeking to make business in Ethiopia. Organized annually since 2010, Addisbuild, bringing the local and international professionals together in Ethiopia every year, has achieved becoming the meeting point of the East African construction industry. Now entering under the control of the BIG 5 head organization, the growth of Addisbuild is estimated to be doubled since the dmg events’ great portfolio of 425,000 suppliers and buyers of construction products from 120 countries worldwide.
Building on a ten-year of experience and knowledge developed by the Expotim, Addisbuild by the BIG 5 Construct Ethiopia will be organized for the 11th time in May 2021. Former main but now only the Turkish pavilion organizer of the event, speaking on behalf of the Expotim, General Manager Cagatay Ersahin said that “for the last ten years, we have put up so much effort, time and hard work for the organization and the growth of the Addisbuild. Seeing it become even larger now with the BIG 5 brand gives us assurance and comfort that we, as a team, have done a great job and our direction is the right one for the sake of this event.”
When asked about this acquisition move of his company, Matt Denton, President of dmg events, stated “Africa is an important growth market for us. This latest acquisition joins a portfolio of 20 shows we run across Africa supported and organised by our office in Egypt and two offices in South Africa. Having successfully adapted the Big 5 brand in Kenya and Nigeria, acquiring the show in Ethiopia was a natural next step. Our growing presence gives us greater access to the continent’s regional markets and a better understanding of how to provide for them.”
